Seemingly very long day….
This is fairly weird… I’ve seldom written another blog so soon after writing my latest blog.
Anyway, today seems like an EXTRA long day… eventhough I woke up at say, around 10am & now it’s like, 11.35pm. That’s like 13hours only… My day usually starts at arnd 7am when I have morning classes.
Today, I guess it’s coz I did so much today. Woke up at 10am, left house at 11am, reached school at 12.28noon. Ok ok I was late for school! But I took my sweet time, alighted at Dhoby Ghaut to take a stroll to my school (saving me 10c on the MRT fare). When I got there, did some organising of notes, very messy nowadays & I simply CAN’T study with my notes or table or room in a mess…. call me a neat, freak, I can’t stand messiness! After that, it was time for lunch. 1pm is lunch, so yea didn’t study much. lol. Went to eat at Cuppage food place. After that we went to the library, signed attendance & went straight back to class for self-study. I felt weird coz I always zoom to the computer area to guna computer. Today, coz I felt guilty for coming late, I stayed in the study room till I REALLY had to go use the PC to send my Dad something before he goes off from work, which was arnd 4pm, 2hrs of being in the study room till I had to disappear.
Then I went to the Singapore visitors’ centre to enquire about the Phantom of the Opera show (starts this Friday, 23March till mid-May) for my cousin, SM, who loves musicals & apparently this is one of her faves. So I decided to go enquire about the tickets. When I got there, after looking arnd & searching for leaflets abt the show & the venue of the place (Esplanade Theatre, aka. the Durian), I asked them about the ticketing system. They said they didnt have that outlet in their centre anymore. It’s a SISTIC (Singapore Indoor Stadium Ticketing Corporation) thing. Anyway, only SISTIC outlets sell these tickets & apparently they stopped selling at the Singapore Visitors’ Centre so I had to go to Plaza Singapura to enquire. I didn’t mind the walk. I was always pressed for time, coz I tend to do stuff last minute…. So I walked to Plaza Singapura, which is at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station (which was where I was thing morning), to inquire abt the tickets. Students get it at a concession of $50. Apparently, when I went to ask, there weren’t anymore. I kept forgetting that they sold OTHER tickets as well so by asking them, "Do u have still have student tickets?" or "How do I get a student ticket?", I get a blurr reaction before realising that I didnt mention the name of the show…. lol. When I was about to ask the lady at the counter, to which there was a guy there in the Queue, (which I thought was a friend of the lady at the counter coz he was talking so casually to her), she said, "hold on a second while we attend to this guy first". And I was like, oh, he was purchasing tickets eh. Coz he had this booklet of some sort in his hand & a pen, writing something in that booklet. Usually, I dont look at people in the face, or in the eye for that matter but when he said I could go first, I was like, "I only need to make a few inquiries". He was polite, he gestured his hand to let me go ahead before him. Then i started to ask about the student concession, to which she said, sorry sold out.
Now I can’t EXACTLY remember the order in which these events happened but I’ll try not to repeat myself.
So I was like, oh…. ok. What about these seats? are they good? is it far? can I get tickets on the 2nd level. (coz this theatre is pretty big, 4 levels & apparently can accommodate 2000people!). Then this guy, whom is not exactly a KPC (busy body) but rather just being nice & friendly, said, "Most of the good seats are sold off. You like Phantom of the Opera? It’s not very nice". I was like, "urmm… no, it’s not for me, my cousin likes it." But I sorta said it defensively, which is kinda weird considering I don’t really know what it’s about. Then the guy said, "level 4 is pretty high up. You can try to get the 2nd or 3rd level. 1st level is always best." But I was like, "I went online to find out if there were any seats on the 2nd or 3rd level, but all that was left was 4th level." Then I turned to ask the lady if there were any orange seats (since he suggested that orange seats were pretty good) on the 2nd level. To which the lady said, no orange seats on the 2nd level, only 4th level. And I was like, oh yea…. Then I kinda got confused, how to choose/decide like that. Then he said, "it’s not very nice. I’ve seen both, the movie & the show. The movie is better." And I was like, in my mind, ‘oh… but it’s not me who is dying to watch it…’ And then I turned to the lady & asked, "urmm…. well….can u find out which dates I can get good seats?" & then she suggested I try to call the hotline & ask them about the seats & dates. So I asked her, most likely, which dates can I still get good seats & she was like, "most likely…mid of May, towards the end of the show dates". Then he suggested, u can go back home & think about it, go online & see if they have the 2nd level or 3rd level tickets. You’ll wana go for the 2nd level or 3rd level blue or yellow seats."
Gosh! I tell u, it was like he was selling me the tickets. But the thing was, I wasn’t at all bothered coz he was nice & friendly & charming and he was helping me out alot here! I didn’t know how big the theatre is & he was nice enough to help me out. He wasn’t bad looking either. He had this charisma about him which didn’t make me even think twice abt what he was saying. Amazing… amazingly weird. The sad new of it all, was that he was so friendly, I didn’t get his name. Not that it didn’t cross my mind but it’d seem weird if I were to ask for his name since he was only there helping me out. Haha. But he was nice. That’s the thing! People are seldom nice in Singapore. Which is soooo weird when u finally meet friendly people.
I sooooo do hope I bump into him again. He has this charisma which makes u wana be his friend coz he knows so much & the way he talks, very charming & sophisticated. Man! He’s pretty young too. It’s funny… I don’t kno why, but I just feel like, I should’ve asked him for his name & number! lol! silly me. People that nice oredi HAVE girlfriends… *sigh*
Well, this was my story for the day…. thanx to my cousin who lurves musicals. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have met this guy. Thanx SM! Hehe… On my way home, I kept thinking to myself, "I HAVE to blog, I HAVe to blog." I had sooo many ideas & words in my head, what to say & all but when I reached home, I had to buy dinner for the maid, then we were going out for dinner & I had to walk the dog (which I’m temporarily helping to dog-sit). By the time I had done all these, I kinda forgot what happened, in which order. But I didnt forget how the guy looked…. he reminds me of Chris Daughtry. Hehehe…. only that he’s chinese! =p If he was Ang moh, I’d never be able to speak like that. I get nervous arnd Ang mohs coz I’m afraid I’ll say something that’ll offend them or they won’t understand a word I’m saying. So yea, that was my day…. pretty long eh? This incident happened in less than 20mins. That’s how fast it takes to meet new people. That’s how fast it takes to meet a great person whom you can hardly ever forget in your life! hehehe… well, that’s all from me. I’m really tired & sleepy oredi. I plan to do some hwk tmrw. Night Night & thanx for reading…… do leave a comment….. if it is to criticise my english, so be it. At least u read it & it leaves u wit a story to share with others….. Ciao!
